speaking german in lahore

For the first time since coming back home from Germany almost 2 months ago, I had a conversation in german language. And I was pleased to note that I can still manage talking in german, despite the two months gap.
Well, it so happens that the German Cultural Center has shifted quite near to my home, in fact just a few houses further down (or up) the road where I live. So I just dropped by there today, and happened to meet the really nice director, who told me that I could always drop by to watch TV, read newspapers etc if I wanted to keep in touch with the language. Thats pretty nice, and I think I'll be giving it a try to go there regularly.

BMWs on Pakistani roads

One thing I have noticed since coming back home is the relative abundance of German cars on Lahore's roads. Well, these are not really abundant, but visible, which wasn't the case before, and these are mainly BMWs. I was recently in Islamabad, and was surprised to see a Z4 there. Before that I was surprised to see a number of X5 jeeps in Lahore. In any case, it seems those with enough money to spare do not just think of Toyota Landcruisers or Mercedeses when it comes to a big or flashy car.
