If you happen...

Check it out here, and also see how the ordinary masses are supposed to travel.

For extreme...

...bullshit, this will serve as a very good example:

"If they don't want to compete, that is fine," Australian Olympic Committee member Peter Montgomery said.

"They will be under absolutely no pressure to compete if they feel uneasy or don't want to compete – we won't be demanding that they still compete."

However, Montgomery added it will be "extremely unlikely that an athlete won't want to compete."

If it is extremely unlikely that an athlete won't want to compete, why the bullshit?

Will they leave China alone?

Interesting article...

...to be read here (in German):
Leben unter Generalverdacht

Maybe it would make sense to ask the Germans if they are Nazis, have some relative who is a Nazi, or subscribe to Nazi ideology, or, or, or...when they apply for a visa. This reminds me of a funny incident a friend of mine told me a couple of years ago: as he was filling the forms for a visa application at the Australian embassy in Islamabad, he was particularly turned off by the question "have you ever been convicted of a crime", to which he replied something like "I didn't know it was still a pre-requisite to enter Australia". Needless to say, his application was refused :-)

There seems...

...to be some problem with Gmail's spam filtering service, at least in the past some time. I have been getting lots of spam in my Inbox, and today I got a 11MB spam email. This was a pain in the butt, since I POP my emails using Outlook Express.

Two weeks ago...

...the final match of the Euro 2008, between Germany and Spain, was fun to watch. I saw many of the matches, which were normally in the afternoon here in Mississauga due to the time difference from Switzerland and Austria. The Turkish team was the most amazing.
One other thing I noticed was how diverse the population here in Canada, or in Toronto and the surrouding towns is. A large number of people had displayed the flags of their countries of origin on their cars, and I was surprised how many europeans have made Canada their home, even from richer European countries like Germany, Spain and Portugals etc.
