You would have...

...to be particularly incompetent to give up your secrets so easily. Read the entire report:

A beautiful poem...

Its in Urdu, but worth looking at while this link is available.
Another link provides nice clips from the very recent history of Pakistan. The bravery and defiance of the people of this country is also to be seen, as are the faces and actions of the perverts.

After much...

...effort, have succeeded in installing WinXP on my laptop. So far the configuration seems to be okay, and somehow managed to find all the laptop-specific drivers from Toshiba Germany's website.
Still, the laptop is not fully operational. MS Office and WinEdt plus Miktex have been installed, though there are small bits and pieces still needed to make the device useful again.
Another major piece of work will be to see if I can get my email messages back into Outlook. I have been using Outlook express for the past almost 10 years, and before formatting the hard drive I imported the messages and the message rules settings into Outlook, and then exported the messages into Outlook format. Of course, did this without being very thorough, so am not sure whether I will get all the messages and settings back.

Today have...

...started the slow, long, and tedious process of getting my laptop back to work again. Currently am saving some of the files which I haven't backed up, and which I don't want to loose, e.g. the bookmarks saved in IE and Firefox.
Possibly from tomorrow I can start installing WinXP again, a real plug-and-pray process.

These days...

...a news website not loading is a bad sign. Just wanted to read a Pakistani news website, and when it didn't load, had the immediate suspicion of some bad news. And there it was: the Sri Lankan cricket team attacked right in the heart of my hometown of Lahore. Some videos of the gunmen were also immediately available on CNN.
Interesting to speculate would be about those pulling the strings, something which would never be known, or would be drowned up in the taliban, militants, terrorists etc. etc. hogwash.
